New direction

The initial reason for this blog was to share travel adventures, accomplishments, etc.  Since I am horrible at blogging and tend to forget about it, it wasn't really as focused as I intended.  Now we are awaiting orders and I have successfully blogged for about a year (don't look like that...a year is a LONG time for me).  So I am going to redirect the blog to where it's supposed to be.  (Yes, the old posts are missing as they were not in line with all of this).

So...

What most people say/think when we say where we live.

Where are we?  At the bottom of Arizona, near the US/Mexican border.  It's the desert and yes, it looks like the desert looks on TV and yes, it's really that hot.  We are up in the mountains though so we get snow in the winter and are cooler than the nearest big city, Tucson.
No, this is not a field trip.  This is our street.
Going into our neighborhood.

What I see every morning.  Beautiful.

We have tons of wildlife in our housing area.  Bears, mountain lions, javelina, deer, turkeys and bobcats.  This one was just sitting in the grass hanging out.  I didn't dare get close so the zoom on my camera phone had to do the best it could.
So then I said, hey we are in a car...I can get a little closer.  The result is a nice shot of bobcat tail.

And this is just a normal day riding home.  I never understood phrases like "God's country" or  "untouched natural beauty" until I moved here.
